Affordable Housing Development of the Year 2018<\/h1>\n

Having already won a string of awards, including the coveted Saltire Medal<\/a> at the Saltire Housing Design Awards, Leith Fort<\/a> was named Affordable Housing Development of the Year at the Herald Property Awards<\/a> for Scotland last night.<\/p>\n

The \u00a311.5 million development of 94 affordable homes was developed by Port of Leith Housing Association (PoLHA) and the City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) on the site of the former 18th century Leith Fort, working with Collective Architecture<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sixty two of the one to four bedroom colony-style properties are for mid-market rent by PoLHA\u2019s subsidiary Persevere Developments Ltd, and 32 units are owned by the CEC for social rent.<\/p>\n

Keith Anderson, Chief Executive of Port of Leith Housing Association, said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very proud of the fantastic homes we have created at Leith Fort along with the City of Edinburgh Council. The development has helped to breathe new life into the area and really is a great place for people to call home.\u201d<\/p>\n
