{"id":4700,"date":"2022-02-16T09:08:09","date_gmt":"2022-02-16T09:08:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.polha.co.uk\/?p=4700"},"modified":"2023-04-18T17:03:51","modified_gmt":"2023-04-18T16:03:51","slug":"eith-chooses-project-funding-awarded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harbour.scot\/homes\/eith-chooses-project-funding-awarded\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00a3eith Chooses project funding awarded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.leithchooses.net\/\">\u00a3eith Chooses<\/a> has awarded a total of \u00a356,106 in grants to 14 projects based in Leith.<\/p>\n<p>In response to feedback from PoLHA tenants asking for a stronger community voice and in line with our <a href=\"https:\/\/strategicplan.polha.co.uk\/\">strategic mission to create brilliant communities<\/a>, PoLHA contributed \u00a35,000 to the \u00a3eith Chooses fund.<\/p>\n<p>Grants of up to \u00a35,000 from this participatory budgeting project have been awarded to small or one-off projects that meet urgent needs for the local community in Leith. \u00a346,106 was given by the City of Edinburgh Council from the Community Grants Fund and \u00a35,000 from Trams to Newhaven.<\/p>\n<p>PoLHA also awarded \u00a32,000 to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rippleproject.co.uk\/lcr-stands-up\">LCR Stands Up<\/a> to support projects in Restalrig, Lochend and Craigentinny.<\/p>\n<p>PoLHA\u2019s Group Chief Executive, Heather Kiteley, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I am thrilled that we have been able to support the brilliant, vibrant communities across Leith and north Edinburgh through \u00a3eith Chooses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur tenants asked us to support strong community voices, and this has been an excellent opportunity to do just that.
