Joiners Aaron and Bradley have been working on a community project to install a new fence for a not-for-profit outdoor nursery in north Edinburgh.
Formerly Leith St Andrew’s Playgroup, Little Larch Nursery is a long-standing community group that has served the local area for around 50 years. They were previously based at Leith St Andrews Parish Church at the bottom of Easter Road. However, when the Church of Scotland began preparing to sell the building, the nursery needed to secure new premises.
To support the move, the nursery launched an online fundraiser to help develop their new outdoor nursery at Loaning Crescent. They successfully opened in time for last summer, but as with most renovations, there is still ongoing work required to fully complete the site.
The premises includes a bowling green, and the nursery were keen to install fencing along this boundary for safety, with a gated access point for staff. This would help to better secure the area and make it easier for staff to supervise the children. This is where we came in!
The nursery supplied the materials, and we carried out the installation for them.
