About Harbour

We’re a family of organisations working together to make a real difference to the lives of people living in Leith and north Edinburgh. We provide affordable homes and support, and generate income to reinvest in our brilliant communities.

Harbour Homes is a Registered Social Landlord which has been providing excellent homes for social rent across Leith and north Edinburgh since 1975.

Harbour Lettings offers affordable homes for rent to people who don’t qualify for social housing and helps other landlords manage their properties.

Harbour Multi-Trades are highly experienced engineers and tradespeople who work across Edinburgh, Fife, and the Lothians.

Our team

We're lucky to have a great team of nearly 200 people working across Harbour. That's too many names and faces to show here, so instead please meet the members of our Group Leadership Team.

Heather Kiteley
Chief Executive

Heather, Chief Executive of Harbour, has an MBA with a specialism in strategic planning and has experience across not-for-profit, charitable and commercial organisations. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, a Chartered Management Accountant and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Gordon Cameron
Group Director of Neighbourhoods

Gordon has postgraduate Diplomas in Housing Studies and Urban Property Appraisal and is a member of Chartered Institute of Housing with over 35 years’ experience in housing. When he’s not working in the built-up environment, Gordon enjoys cycling to all kinds of scenic places.

Mike Gibson
Director of Group Strategic Finance and Assets

Mike is a Chartered Management Accountant and has been working in finance for over 35 years. He has worked across a range of industries in the private sector, local government in Australia, international development assistance and was previously in the housing sector as Head of Finance at Viewpoint. Mike’s role involves ensuring that our tenants’ homes are the best they can be at a rent that is affordable. Outside of work, his main interests are going to concerts, travel and supporting Hibs.

Chris Thomson
Group Director of Operations

Chris was born and bred in Edinburgh, albeit the Southside! He has worked in the housing and property sector for over 30 years. Originally serving his time as a joiner, he continued his studies to obtain a BSc Hons. His passion at work is developing internal services, improving processes and generating a “can do “ team spirit. Being a keen DIYer, golfing and walking two dogs take up his spare time.

Chris Ellis
Director of Group Corporate Services

Originally from West Lothian, Chris has spent a large part of his life living in Leith. Chris has worked in housing for six years helping to modernise services and has experience leading a transformational change programme. Chris also serves on the Board of Scotland’s Housing Network. Outside of work, Chris enjoys travel and is a massive foodie.

Board of management

The Board of Management meets regularly to discuss Harbour business and guides its overall direction. Board Members are from a mix of backgrounds and professions and bring a range of views.

Campbell Whyte
Harbour Homes Chair
Chair of Harbour Homes, Board Member of Harbour Multi-Trades and member of the Finance and Risk Committee (ex officio)
Campbell is a surveyor who has worked in both the private and public sector dealing with a wide range of commercial and residential property projects. Recent roles include a secondment through Scottish futures Trust to NHS GGC. Previous non executive director roles have been the Queens Hall and Artlink. Campbell enjoys playing a number of sports and restoring classic cars.
Iain MacPhail

Iain, an affordable housing planner and part-time musician, has over 10 years’ experience in the sector. He has worked in property and housing delivery, as well as housing and homelessness support and addictions support, across the public, private and third sectors, from Edinburgh to London, and Sicily to New York.
Having lived here for the last eight years, Iain is passionate about seeing new affordable housing being built in Leith, and to see high quality mixed sustainable communities emerge in the area.
Jim Sherval

Jim is a Consultant in Public Health at NHS Lothian. He has worked on a wide range of health related topics from alcohol licensing to HIV. A graduate of the London School of Economics, he is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health. Originally from Portsmouth, Jim has lived in Leith with his wife and three now grown up children for the last 20 years plus and can’t imagine not living near to the sea.
Leigh Eardley

Leigh is a tenant of Harbour Homes and has been Paralegal and Personal Assistant in the Legal and Asset Management fields for over 30 years. She has also run her own small plumbing and gas business. In her spare time, Leigh enjoys Crossfit and socialising.
Caitlin McCorry

Board Member of Harbour Homes.
Caitlin, born in Leith, is a Local Government Manager with East Lothian Council’s Connected Communities. Previously an Assistant Director at Barony Housing Association, and with a post-graduate qualification in Housing, Caitlin has plenty experience in housing management and development. Outside her work in housing and communities, Caitlin’s interests include music, film, art and social justice.
Kevin Anderson

Kevin is Head of Customer and Housing Services with Midlothian Council and has previously worked with other councils and housing associations. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and has lived in Leith since 2010 where he enjoys gardens and dog-walking.
Liz McLean

Liz is a retired Strategic Asset and Capital Plan Service Manager with East Lothian Council. She is a Chartered Architect with long standing interest in sustainable development. Lis is also a Trustee of the John Muir’s Birthplace Trust in Dunbar.
Vendula Tomasova

Chair of Harbour Lettings and Board Member of Harbour Homes.
Vendula, originally from the Czech Republic, is an IT Service Delivery Manager. Vendula gained an MSc in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde and has lived in Leith since 2017. She is a passionate volunteer who is keen to be involved in redevelopment and local projects. In her spare time she does open water swimming, hillwalking and loves to cook and try new recipes.
Ben Jones

Ben Jones is the Managing Director of Pirtek Edinburgh, a provider of hydraulic solutions. Prior to this Ben worked as a foreman mechanic at Edinburgh Airport’s motor transport section.
Zoe Curry

Vice Chair of Harbour Lettings
Zoe is a Harbour Lettings tenant residing in Leith. Zoe is a experienced social housing professional with over seven years of experience across the Lothians. She is deeply invested in the Leith community and currently serves as a member of the Leith Central Community Council. Zoe is passionate about expanding affordable housing options in Leith and throughout Scotland. In her free time, she enjoys walking, practicing yoga, and supporting Leith’s independent retailers.
Chris Stone

Chris served in the Royal Navy attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer Stores Accountant for almost 23 years. Upon discharge he moved to Perth and worked for Kwik Save starting as a customer service assistant and rising to a Store Manager. Then working for each succeeding Supermarket for 18 years.
Chris has been a tenant of Harbour Homes since 2013. In 2016 he was selected along with 11 others to work as tenant adviser to Scottish Housing Regulator. This terminated in 2022 when Covid restrictions lifted.
He loves to bake and experiment with different recipes in his free time.
Pauline Carter-Lee

Pauline started her career in Hairdressing achieving a City and Guilds (Distinction) qualification resulting in managing a salon and starting up her own business. Pauline also joined the Signal Corps in the TA before giving most of her adult life to caring for family. When time allowed, Pauline returned to education achieving more qualifications. Pauline has scooped many life experiences and has had the privilege of constant learning. Her research skills landed her an opportunity to chair a new Disability Board within Scottish Parliament and a position with Citizens Advice Bureau. Pauline has been a Harbour Homes tenant for 26 years and has seen many changes in and out with the community.
Pauline enjoys being extremely proactive, especially with her two Sprocker Spaniels. There’s never a dull moment!
Graham Gillespie

Board Member of Harbour Homes and member of the Finance and Risk Committee
Graham is a Chartered Internal Auditor and is currently the Head of Internal Audit at Wbg Services LLP. He has over 20 years of experience working within internal audit, working primarily across the public sector including the social housing sector. Previous non-executive appointments include being a member of the Audit & Risk Committee for the Robertson Trust, being a member of the Management Committee for Easthall Park Housing Co-operative and he also currently serves on the Management Committee of Linthouse Housing Association where he chairs the Audit & Assurance Committee. Graham’s main hobby is lawn bowling where is the Secretary & Treasurer of Lanarkshire Bowling Association. He also enjoys spending family time with his two children and dog.
