It’s meter reading time!

On Saturday 1 July 2023, energy prices will be dropping by around 17%. And, for the first time ever, prices for prepayment meters will also be lowered to roughly the same unit pricing as those who pay by direct debit.

Our Energy Advice Officer Kenny has a few tips to help you make the most of the new rates straight away.

If you have a regular meter (this includes Direct Debit, monthly or pay quarterly customers):

Take a few minutes to submit your meter readings by Friday 30 July. This will mean that when the new pricing kicks in on Saturday, you’ll be billed correctly on the cheaper rates immediately.

If you have a prepayment meter:

Top up on Saturday 1 July (not before this date) with at least £1 on each meter. This simple step will bring you down to the new pricing.
