Signs You Need a New Boiler

Not sure whether your boiler needs replacing? Here are some signs you may need a new one…

Age

The average life expectancy of a boiler is between 10-15 years. Even if it has been serviced regularly, and is well maintained, you could save money in the long-run by upgrading to a newer model.

Efficiency

As boilers get older, they also lose their efficiency. If your bills are rising, it could be time to upgrade.

Especially if you have a G ERP-rated boiler and it’s over 15 years old, it’s likely been overworked. Installing a more energy efficient boiler could help keep your costs down.

Unreliable

If your radiators and hot water are taking a long time to heat up, even after the annual service, it could mean your boiler is wearing out.

In addition, if the boiler keeps switching off, the pressure is always reduced, or is making strange noises, it could be time to start thinking about switching.

Expensive Repairs

You don’t need to upgrade when a boiler isn’t working properly. Sometimes, a simple repair and a regular service can get it back to top shape.

However, if repairs are becoming more frequent and costly, it may be recommended to replace the boiler altogether.
