Six new Board Members join the Port of Leith Housing Association Group
Port of Leith Housing Association and two of its subsidiaries have welcomed six new members to its Boards. Three of the new Board Members, who were appointed following a competitive process, are tenants of the organisation.
The new members were sought following the launch of the Group’s five-year strategy last year to sit across three of its Boards including: the housing association Board, the mid market rent Board (Persevere Developments Ltd), and the Board of its social enterprise, Quay Community Improvements.
Nicola Dobson
Quay Community Improvements Board (Chair)
Nicola is an experienced programme and project manager, moving into community development in 2013 after many years in the electricity generation industry. She currently works for the Scottish Government as a mental health programme manager and retains her passion for community development.
Nicola lives in Leith, close to two of her three daughters, her third daughter is a global traveller, currently living in Canada. In her spare time, she loves to walk and cycle, exploring the world near and far.
Jim Sherval
Quay Community Improvements Board
Jim is a Consultant in Public Health at NHS Lothian. He has worked on a wide range of health related topics from alcohol licensing to HIV. A graduate of the London School of Economics, he is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health. Originally from Portsmouth, Jim has lived in Leith with his wife and three now grown up children for the last 20 years plus and can’t imagine not living near to the sea. Jim joined the Quay Board in March 2021.
Leigh Eardley
PoLHA & Quay Community Improvements Board
Leigh is a tenant of PoLHA and has been Paralegal and Personal Assistant in the Legal and Asset Management fields for over 30 years. She has also run her own small plumbing and gas business. In her spare time, Leigh enjoys Crossfit and socialising.
Victoria Hennessy
Quay Community Improvements Board
Victoria is an architect based in Edinburgh with experience in the public and private sectors gained in Scotland and Ireland. She runs her own architectural and interiors firm focusing on small residential projects across the central belt. Her professional interests are interior design, building conservation and urban regeneration.
Alan Armstrong
PoLHA & Quay Community Improvements Board
Alan Armstrong, a tenant of Port of Leith Housing Association, brings extensive experience of the hospitality and care at home sectors to the PoLHA and Quay Community Improvements Boards. Alan is currently a Voluntary Worker with NHS Lothian and his local food bank.
Vendula Pavlikova
PDL & Quay Community Improvements Board
Vendula Pavlikova, a tenant of Persevere Developments, is an IT Service Delivery Manager in Edinburgh. Vendula, originally from the Czech Republic, moved to Scotland in 2014 and has lived in Leith since 2017. Vendula has joined the Persevere Developments and Quay Community Improvements Boards.
