Our advent calendar is up and we’re looking back at memories and facts from 2023! From the fun and laughter to the dedicated work carried out by our sheltered housing team, here’s what’s been behind the doors so far.
Day 1 – 11,469 tenants have taken part in activities throughout 2023.
Day 2 – Our three developments have raised funds to support their own activities and have raised money for others.
Day 3 – 1,240 tenants enjoyed breakfast rolls!
Day 4 – Staff provided emergency assistance to our sheltered tenants on 68 occasions.
Day 5 – We hosted Better Together Week and enjoyed a week of fun and laughter.
Day 6 – The team carried out 263 Housing Support Plan meetings.
Day 7 – Tenants came along to the Big Summer BBQ!
Day 8 – Tenants took part in world food events.
Day 9 – Sheltered staff contacted others on 813 occasions on behalf of our tenants.
Day 10 – Tenants enjoyed outings to the Falkirk Wheel, St Andrews and shopping.
Day 11 – Our Sheltered Tenants Group created the tenants charter, which hangs proudly in our spaces.
Day 12 – Regular activities eg coffee mornings, fish ‘n’ chips, gardening groups.
Day 13 – 11,920 metres of handrail has been sanitised during 2023.
Day 14 – We celebrated lots of events throughout the year eg Burns Night, St Patrick’s Day, Halloween.
Day 15 – 1,920 tenants came along to our coffee mornings.
Day 16 – Tenants enjoyed summer Seagull Cruises.
Day 17 – Sheltered Team received an award from Age Scotland in recognition of the excellent service they provide.
Day 18 – Christmas lights and carols.
Day 19 – Staff have provided emergency shopping and errands on 342 occasions.
Day 20 – Around 50 tenants attended a Christmas dinner together.
Day 21 – Health and Wellbeing – We focus on activities that keep us well, exercise groups, therapies and getting outdoors.
Day 22 – What others say about us: “A daughter commented that her dad was living his best life since moving into his new home.”
Day 23 – We have grown our own vegetables and flowers.
Day 24 – Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all from Harbour Homes Sheltered Housing Team.
