LCR Stands Up grants have been awarded to groups and organisations in the Lochend, Craigentinny and Restalrig areas after being voted for by the local community.
LCR Stands Up is a participatory budgeting scheme, run by The Ripple Project, that offers grants of £50-£2,000 to individuals and groups in Restalrig, Lochend and Craigentinny to support projects in the local area. As part of our commitment to building brilliant communities and strengthening community voices, PoLHA contributed £2,000 to this fund.
Over £20,000 was made available from funders who believe that local people should be supported to improve their area.
Projects that applied for the funding addressed themes on either social inclusion and physical/mental health, cleaner and greener outdoor spaces, domestic violence support groups, drug and alcohol abuse support or addressing racial inequality.
